Good News about Weight Loss
February 1, 2008 on 7:01 am | In Diet, Life, Exercise, Health, Kimkins, Weight Loss, Kimkins Diet | No CommentsThere is good news this morning. A medical study has concluded that moderate weight loss in overweight adults improves heart health. It further indicated that the benefit was there whether you chose diet, exercise or a combination. The best part of this is that benefits are immediate and apparent. People who know that they need to lose several pounds do not seem to take late onset diabetes and high blood pressure as a call to action. If you are conclusively told that you will feel younger if you lose weight, is that enough motivation?
Share Your Vacation
February 1, 2008 on 12:05 am | In Life, Travel | No CommentsThere are too many general social networking sites. The next generation of social networking sites are very much niche sites. I have heard about sites that are like social networking for your pets. I just finished looking at a site that has a social networking component for planning and documenting family vacations. I think that is kind of cool. WeNeedAVacation.com also has listings for vacation destinations like these Panama City vacation rentals. Panama City is in Coastal Florida. It’s supposed to be sunny and mild for the next two days in Panama City.
The website had a photo contest last vacation season and this video shows a montage of some of the best entries…
Drive South with the One You Love
January 31, 2008 on 11:24 pm | In Real Estate, Life, Money, Travel | No CommentsI read about some really nasty weather in the USA today. I hope all of my readers are safe and warm.
If you have retirement income or maybe you have figured out a way to make money online, you may think a little harder about heading south when the snow starts piling up. Grab an extra blanket and spend some time perusing these Panama Real Estate Listings. Panama is negotiating a free trade agreement with the USA. The real estate market is booming, so homes can potentially be a lucrative investment. Oh, and it’s warm there. Chicago does not have a style of short pants named after it. Oh wait, that’s Bermuda. Panama has a hat.

Organic Valentine’s Chocolate
January 31, 2008 on 3:03 pm | In Life, Diet | 1 CommentI expect that there are a few dieters that take a day off for Valentine’s. If you are a mostly recovered chocaholic who is planning to jump off the wagon and then jump right back on, I would advise you to enjoy some really good chocolate, like this Organic Valentine’s Chocolate from KatesCaringGifts.com.
If you want to go as low carb as possible and still indulge, I think that coffee beans covered in dark chocolate might be the best option. The Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans from this store are Fair Trade and Organic. They do have sugar in the ingredient list.
An Awesome Wide Receiver
January 30, 2008 on 8:52 pm | In Life | No CommentsIf you ask a casual fan to name a Denver Broncos player, the odds are that they will mention a quarterback. They say that there is no I in TEAM. There is no QB in TEAM either.
Having skilled and talented players in positions like wide receiver are vital for the success of a team.
Brandon Marshall is 6’ 4” and 230. Defensive backs on opposing teams have a very hard time tackling this Denver Bronco. Yards after contact is a statistic by which wide receivers are judged and Marshall’s numbers are impressive. But numbers are boring. Watching a guy push past one tackle attempt after another to make a 70 yard touchdown is not boring.
How to Have a Sexually Satisfying Marriage
January 29, 2008 on 8:28 pm | In Life | No CommentsI can give one simple tip on maintaining a sexually satisfying marriage. Work things out in such a way that you are going to bed together every night. Paul and Linda McCartney spend virtually every single night together. I feel sorry for Paul and his post Linda missteps, but he had been getting it right for decades.
IgniteHerPassion.com is an interesting read, although I don’t agree wholeheartedly with some of the ideas conveyed by its author. That is probably due in large part to the biblical basis of some of the relationship advice contained on the website. I was exposed to Christianity as a child and I embraced it. Eventually I fell away, and this was really the result of an accumulation of details that I did not agree with. One of these details is contained in a letter written by the Apostle Peter or rather by his secretary in which he describes women as the weaker sex.
I am broad-minded and I can see that many devote Christian couples have very happy and very loving relationships. Basing an effort to improve your sex life based on Christian principles might be a good idea.
Finding Good Used Cars
January 28, 2008 on 8:31 pm | In Life | 1 CommentI am going to get some accidental Google traffic from talking about used cars on a blog with the word SCAM in the header. I think that the majority of middle aged people who drive can name at least one automobile purchase where they feel that they got ripped off. My lesson was learned with an 80s Chrysler Reliant. The used car salesman had been a little too eager to take my first counter offer. It was a cheap lesson, at least I didn’t have to worry about car loans until my third car.
If I lived in the UK, I would definitely consider using NetCars.co.uk to sell my car. It’s also a great site to search through if you want to buy a car. After you make your initial search query, you can sort the results by price, by mileage or by model year. I would suggest that you do some third party research on the type of car that you are looking for to start with and then look at the cars that are within the price range that you would expect. Also, if the mileage sounds too good to be true, it might not be.
I’m happy to see that there is a burgeoning market for used Smart cars. Once the kids are out of the picture I want to get one of those babies.
Where is the Love?
January 26, 2008 on 10:52 pm | In Life | No CommentsAccording to a sexy leading man who will remain nameless, ROMANCE stands for
‘Relying On Magnificent And Necessary Compatible Energy.’
I know, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. To me, that is the point of romantic love. It’s a reason to stop making sense.
Don’t get me wrong, it is important to approach the idea of romantic relationships with your eyes wide open. If I was single, I think I would give E-Harmony a try. I have enough life experience to know that compatibility and common values are very important. I am talking about telling your brain to shut up and listening to your heart AFTER you have rationally decided that you want to be with someone.
I don’t know if anything written on RomanceForEveryone.com corroborates my theories. I am in love and have been for years, so I think I know what I am talking about.
Philidelphia Lawyer
January 25, 2008 on 10:27 pm | In Law, Life | No CommentsWoody Guthrie wrote a song about a Philidelphia lawyer. Tom Hanks won an Oscar for his portayal of a Philidelphia lawyer. I am writing a post about a Philidelphia lawyer.
MWSDLegal.com is a site maintained by a group of personal injury lawyers in PA. I was pleased to see that their landing page reads more like a legal argument and less like an online sales letter. The important things worth noting are that they work on contingency and they are very competent and experienced with regard to advising a client upon receipt of a settlement offer. Kevin Weinstein and Christopher Moyer both have impressive credentials.
Beautiful Grandfather Clocks
January 25, 2008 on 8:26 pm | In Life | No CommentsThe Grandfather Clocks from my childhood are still fresh in my memory. I can actually remember the sound more clearly than I can remember the appearance.
It would seem that the floor model clocks with glass covering the pendulum case are designed to hypnotize curious children. The sweep of a pendulum that marks each second is like quiet music. The anticipated chimes that arrive to announce hour are not quite so quiet.
I had a particular style of grandfather clock in my mind’s eye as I was writing this post. When I visited GrandfatherClocksBlog.com, I noticed that there are a many different shapes of grandfather clocks. I prefer the ones with ornate woodworking.
I was always a very curious child, so it was a good thing that my family didn’t have any grandfather clocks. I would have taken them apart. I took apart three wind up alarm clocks, five AM radios and a typewriter before I was 14.
People like me are most likely the reason why there is such a demand for Howard Miller grandfather clocks. This spectacular Howard Miller Grandfather Clock has a cabinet that locks. Curiousity seems to have a genetic component, so I plan keep my clock locked at all times. Determination is also inherited, so I had better keep my tools locked up too.
While I am on the subject of tools and children and heavy floor model clocks, I should advise you to attach your clock to a wall with a proper bracket if there are children in your home.
