FAQ Stands for Frequently Asked Questions
January 16, 2009 on 12:08 pm | In Kimkins Medical Risks, Diet, Marketing, Kimkins, Kimkins Criticism, Heidi Diaz, Kimkins Fraud, Who Is Kimmer, Kimkins Diet | No CommentsI have recently relocated. I hate moving, but one minor benefit is that I am no longer blocked from the Kimkins Website. My rate of posting on this blog is a pretty clear indication that I am lacking in the Fascination with Kimmer department. I was finally bored enough to go in for a fresh look today. A page that struck me a very misleading is the FAQ. I suspect that the most frequently asked questions are actually the ones that get people banned.
A Legal Cliché…
December 24, 2008 on 6:19 pm | In Kimkins Lawsuits, Money, Law, Kimkins, Kimkins Fraud, Kimmer, Heidi Diaz, Kimkins Diet | No CommentsHe who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client.
Heidi Diaz is officially without representation now that her lawyer has stepped away from the proceedings. I have been out of the loop for too long to offer any worthwhile commentary. Check out these blogs for some suppositions, predictions and explanations…
Why the Lack of Fascination with Kimkins?
May 27, 2008 on 5:55 pm | In Internet, Diet, Life, Media, Money, Business, Kimkins Fraud, Kimkins, Kimkins Lawsuits, Weight Loss, Kimmer | 1 CommentThe wheels of justice turn slowly. Fortunately for Heidi Diaz, the core demographic that she defrauded grew up watching Sesame Street and have a short attention span as a result.
That may be an exaggeration, but there certainly is less going on on the blogosphere. A result in the proceedings will probably get some people talking for awhile, maybe even the media. Personally, I think the media is done with this human drama.
Freedom of Information
February 11, 2008 on 7:37 pm | In Kimkins Lawsuits, Kimkins, Kimkins Fraud | 1 CommentIf you are really interested in the minute details of the legal proceedings related to Kimkins, you might be interested in Riverside Civil Court Open Access. Anyone can view documents related to the case, or just about any other case.
I am not in a reading mood today. My most insightful observation is related to the clerical quality standards. One page was copied on an pretty extreme diagonal. I wish people took more pride in their work.
Kimmkins With Two M’s
February 8, 2008 on 9:20 pm | In Kimmkins, Kimkins, Kimkins Fraud, Kimkins Diet | 3 CommentsI don’t know why I didn’t have this thought process until just now. The people who are at the most risk of suffering financially and/or with regard to their health are also very likely to have poor spelling. They aren’t going to stumble upon the fact that Kimkens is a fraud if all of the anti-kimkins blogs diligently check their spelling. I shouldn’t imply that only unintelligent people are joining Kimmkins. A smart person with the right combination of a trusting nature and a burning desire to lose weight quickly is just as likely to throw their money down the well that is the Kimkins site.
Unbiased, a Definition
January 31, 2008 on 11:50 pm | In Money, Blogging, Marketing, Business, Kimkins Affiliates, Kimkins Fraud, Kimkins Criticism, Kimkins, Kimkins Diet | 2 CommentsMost people with a reasonable amount of education and experienced already know what unbiased means. I am not claiming to be unbiased. If you were to Google the word ‘Kimkins’ you would see the word unbiased, which means free from favoritism or self-interest, describing Kimkins Review, the affiliate that to this date still publishes the fraudulent 198lb weight loss claim made by Heidi Diaz.
I think that affiliates have an undeniable self-interest. I have no problem with the concept of affiliate marketing, but those who do it well don’t lie. The best way to sell something is to actually believe that it is a good product and that your readers will benefit from buying it. I think many of us could name a small handful of people who put their names behind Kimkins when they believed that she was an actual weight loss success and then quickly put Kimkins behind them when they found out (or in some cases strongly suspected) the truth.
Anti-Kimkins Blogs of Note: Jimmy
January 30, 2008 on 7:54 pm | In Business, Weight Loss, Internet, Blogging, Diet, Kimkins Affiliates, Kimkins, Kimmer, Heidi Diaz, Kimkins Fraud, Jimmy Moore, Kimkins Diet | No CommentsI’m guessing that about 0.2% of the people that end up reading my title will react by thinking to themselves Jimmy who?
Jimmy is a low carb weight loss success story who went on to become a pro blogger and the host of a vibrant free low carb community. He has a lot of personality.
Jimmy spent months as a Kimkins affiliate and drew harsh criticism for a part of that time. His audio interview with Kimmer (who at that time was not admitting to her identity as Heidi Diaz) was a defining moment of this saga. I think you can pinpoint the moment when he stopped giving Kimmer the benefit of the doubt. He asked her if the picture of the woman in the red dress was, in fact, her. She said it was, in a tone of voice very much like the one that Heidi Diaz would later use to say No Comment to Chip Yost. The popularity of the audio interview with Jimmy Moore meant that thousands of people had absolutely no doubt that Heidi Diaz was Kimmer as soon as she spoke on camera. Surprisingly, Kimmer continued to deny being Heidi Diaz for some time after that.
My Hindsight Fashion Sense
January 28, 2008 on 7:15 pm | In Fashion, Kimkins Fake Pictures, Kimkins Fraud, Heidi Diaz | No CommentsDoubts.
Many people who looked at the success stories last year on Kimkins.com had doubts. Some people who were in contact with Heidi were treated to the kind of back stories that um, are generally considered unmakeuppable. When I look at all those Russian Bride pictures now, I find it hard to believe that anyone could have swallowed the whole farce. The majority of them are wearing clothing and makeup that, while not bizarre by any means, are not typical of Americans in the 21st century. I guess the craftiness of the fraud involved placement and cropping. This reminds me of the Jessica Seinfeld book about getting your kids to eat their vegetable through clandestine methods.
The lady in the red dress that was supposed to be Kimmer would be comparible to Jessica Seinfeld putting a cherry TOMATO on top of a sundae and serving it to her kid.
Mission Accomplished?
January 28, 2008 on 6:31 pm | In Internet, Kimkins, Kimkins Criticism, Kimkins Fraud, Kimkins Diet | 3 CommentsAfter looking at all the tasks posted on Kimkins Scam I felt a bit guilty about not being as busy as some other people. When I decided to jump in and do my share, I got a surprise. Many of the promotional articles and posts about Kimkins have already been taken down. Here’s a 404 page. All the Kimkins articles at Awesome Articles have been replaced with the following words:
All Kimkins diet related articles have been removed from Awesome-Articles.com in response to the following news story:
Kimkins.com is still up and running, but it is reassuring to see how responsive the article posting sites have been.
Anti-Kimkins Blogs of Note: Slamboard
January 25, 2008 on 6:18 pm | In Internet, Business, Kimkins Criticism, Kimkins Fraud, Kimmer | 2 CommentsSlamboard definitely deserves a mention in this series of posts on anti-Kimkins. The photographs of an obese Heidi Diaz were published there first. These photos were taken by PI Robert Charlton of Alliance Investigative Services.
The focus of Slamboard has shifted away from the Kimkins Controversy lately, but the older posts are a great resource for everyone with an interest in the story. There are now lots of vocal detractors with inside information because most of the former insiders fled when they realized or suspected the truth… or they got kicked out for asking questions. Slamboard posts all comments that are not spam. There are several comments from Kimmer’s defenders and they make for an interesting read.
