Health Care is a general field that has been a growing source of employment for quite a while. This isn’t news to anyone. If you aren’t actively looking into the job market, you might not know about some of the specific fields that are suffering from a severe shortage of skilled and qualified workers. If you think a job in medical imaging might appeal to you, you should check out MedAcademy.org’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Here is a link to a video that gives you an idea of what the job and the training are all about. Someone with an interest in medicine and some technological aptitude might be well suited to this occupation. There are courses starting in February at the campus in San Mateo.

The Radiologic Technology Program at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts takes two years and you can call yourself a certified Radiologic Technician when you graduate. I decided that as part of this post, I would go to the biggest job site and type in the name of the vocation. Today, there are two hundred and twenty seven jobs that come up with the search query for Radiologic Technology .

The Psychiatric Technician Program trains people for a job where they would be assisting with the training and care of people who are experiencing mental disorders and/or developmental disabilities. The training teaches students about things like the administration of medications and the implementation of behavioral management techniques. Important issues like crisis intervention will be covered in detail. Students will learn how to facilitate social and vocational training as well as individual and group therapeutic activities. While it is a rewarding and challenging field, I would caution anyone who is considering it to carefully assess their own personality and sensibilities before deciding if it the right job for them.

Disregard the obvious reference to one of the most enduring songs in rock history, music careers are not as easy as fishin’.

Artistshousemusic.com aims to serve as a guide to people who want to make a life’s work in music. One of the key elements of the site is a series of interviews with very successful people in the music industry. I don’t think they have talked to Randy Bachman yet, but they have spoken the Randy Newman. Careers in music are not only for performers. Promotions, production, management and many other fields are lucrative options in the music industry. There was a time when I was hoping to have a career that involved nothing but thinking up really cool names for bands. Unfortunately, most record labels let bands think up their own names.

Puresafety.com is an online resource for a company that provides OSHA construction safety training. I have been a part of safety committees in a couple of different work environments in the past. One of these was a sawmill. Sawmills are very hazardous workplaces. I worked there for ten years and I left under pleasant circumstances and with ten fingers.

Taking safety seriously and receiving proper training while in an industrial setting may have deprived me of a good excuse for my four finger typing, but I am grateful just the same. Quality safety training is not only the right thing to do, it can also save your company money by reducing property damage, insurance costs and lost time. PureSafety provides an online OSHA 10-Hour outreach program for Construction and General Industry for $139 per student. The advantages of an online course include the ability of the employer to track employee progress whenever they wish from any computer. Employees can also review coursework at home.
