Great Priced Furniture

March 18, 2008 on 7:53 pm | In Decor | No Comments

I just finished reading a great guide to buying home office furniture. It was on a retail furniture site called Great Priced Furniture. We have ended up with a mismatched bunch of computer desks and task chairs in out household. We did exactly what the article says people do, we over-economized when we were first buying office furniture. At least we are able to hand down our cheapest desks to the kids. We have had to wheel a few really cheap task chairs out to the garage.

Great Priced Furniture has a very wide range of office chairs. My suggestion to anyone buying office furniture for the first time is to get stuff that is just a little bit better than you think you deserve.

Blogging About Kimkins

I haven’t been very active with my anti-kimkins blogging efforts lately. I think that giving a nod to the people who are still in the thick of things is the least that I can do to keep those search engine pages fair and balanced.

BamaGal is pretty busy over at Kimkins Scam. If you visit her site, be forewarned that there is a leprechaun shaking his naked butt on one of her March posts.

On a more serious note, Becky has recently published an Official Update on the Kimkins Case from John Tiedt.

The above press release gives you the gist of what FoodConnect.com is all about. I have visited the site a few times and I find it to be quite entertaining. I haven’t come away with any must make recipes yet. As often as not, I am vicariously entertained by websites about food. I have a pretty stable diet that I don’t deviate from that much. I am thinking about submitting a few recipes to see what dietary values are spit out. You really have to take some of the values with a grain of salt because they are dependent on user inputs. I actually find the cocktails to be the most entertaining, or more accurately I find the people who leave comments after trying out drink recipes to be a hoot. Here is a recipe for Captain Morgan’s Steamy Applecolada Dream.

Food Safety

meat.JPGHave you ever thought that it’s possible that people who eat more meat as part of a low carb way of eating are at a higher risk of food borne illness? I don’t know if this is true. I do know that being careful and smart about handling meat can mean fewer bouts of illness for you and your family and reduce the likelihood of having a serious food poisoning occur.

I remember Oprah spending months harping on and on about not thawing out chicken on the counter. At the time, I have to admit that I found it annoying. Now I am wondering how many lives she may have saved with her tirades.

There are lots of government websites and other resources that can provide more accurate and complete information about food safety…

A Complete Loan Source

March 14, 2008 on 3:56 pm | In Money | No Comments

Despite readin the various terrifying news items about the credit industry on news sites almost every day, life goes on. We will still find ourselves in need of Car Loans and Personal Loans from time to time. If you have never used the internet as a resource for loan shopping, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Do as your momma told you and shop around, but consider checking out CompleteLoanSource.com first. If you go to their landing page you will see that they have 1285 words that reads like Loans 101.

I think credit is one of the only things that I haven’t bought on the internet and that is bound to change someday. I generally look around at online sources to get some perspective before heading out to the bricks and mortar places.

Changes at Kimkins.com

March 7, 2008 on 6:18 pm | In Kimkins | No Comments

There is no longer a link to the Controversy page AKA the Debate page on the front of Kimkins.com. I based a post on the fact that Kimmer was no longer pictured on the “Watch Us Lose” table despite stating that she had recently lost over fifty pounds. Well, there’s Kimmer. Her stats show a big weight loss as does her current picture. She replaced another member who was listed as having lost a whooping seven pounds.
