Introduction to RC Cars for Beginners

February 7, 2008 on 9:52 pm | In Life | No Comments

I go off the beaten track with my blog reading from time to time. I kinda stumbled onto a beaten track with this Introduction to RC Cars for Beginners. It has been decades since I have played with an RC car. I had some neighbor’s kids that drove their car on the street. Please, eveyone, keep your kids from doing that. There are plenty of more appropriate venues. Making an awesome backyard track with your kids could be a great bonding experience, an you get moer fresh air and exercise than you will sitting around a gaming console.

Alcohol

There is anecdotal evidence and some hearsay that Heidi Diaz struggles with alcoholism. Her recent blog post about alcohol speaks volumes by saying almost nothing at all. There are carbs in alcoholic drinks. That is true, but there is also alcohol. Alcohol is a mind altering and addictive substance. If there is one aspect of this woman that gets my unadulterated sympathy it is the drinking.

For people without issues related to alcohol (extending to family members as well), consider drinking 1 glass of red wine several days per week. It has been shown to benefit blood cholesterol ratios.

A Non-Profit Rehab

Michael’s House Men’s Center is a rehab facility that is located in Southern California a little more than one hundred miles east of LA. Everyone in a family and even a community is affected by the drug addiction and drug abuse that goes on in society. Antisocial and criminal behavior carried out by drug addicts have a high cost. The efforts of law enforcement to curtail the sale of drugs and all the other related crime has a high cost. These are nothing compared to the costs to the abusers themselves in terms of their health and their happiness.

The particular drug abuse treatment that is offered at Michael’s House Men’s Center includes rehabilitation that can last as long as three months and is aimed at meaningful recovery. Successful recovery means that former drug users are no longer using drugs and can function in society, which includes being employed.

Time Management

I mentioned earlier this week that I plan to start working out. This is going to require spending less time on other things. Blogging will be one of those things. There’s a bit of an anti-climax going on with the whole controversy as it is. Or it could be the calm before the storm, who really knows. The last lawsuit that I has a tangential connection with dragged on for a very long time without any resolution. Most civil proceedings that I hear about but have no connection with are usually forgotten about completely before there is an outcome.

iPhone Unlocking

iNever got all that excited about the iPhone to be honest. I was a late adopter of cell phone technology. I didn’t get one until it became a practical necessity about three years ago. By then, there was affordable pay as you go, which is what I have relied on. When I heard that iPhones would require buyers to enter into a restrictive and expensive contract with an exclusive provider, any enthusiasm that I had for the must have item flew out the window.

Now that iPhoneUnlockUK.com and other iPhone Unlock sites have cropped up to emancipate iPhone users, it might be time for a fresh look at the iPhone.

The High Cost of Fitness

Looking for running shoes for under $50? As you would see if you clicked that link, that’s asking for a lot.

I resolved to join a gym (and also actually go to it and work out). Now I am realizing that neither one of us has any appropriate clothes or footwear. It is really going to add up :(

We want to get clothes that are made from quick drying fabric, so that we can wash them an hang them to dry everyday that we go to the gym.

Flowers Have Zero Calories*

*the title is not actually true, but if you don’t eat your flowers, the calories are irrelevant.

1800flowers.com is the place to go if you want to order flowers online. You can still do it by phone if you prefer.

I think that fresh flowers feed the senses in a way that is every bit as satisfying as a big box of chocolates. If you are a recovering chocoholic, I should warn you ahead of time that 1800flowers.com delivers chocolates as well. Be strong and have a happy Valentine’s Day.

Which Presidential Hopeful is a Weight Loss Success Story?

In my mind, the act of taking control of your personal health and losing 100 pounds seems like a pretty good talking point for a political candidate. I am a bit out of the loop, but I am still surprised that I didn’t see this bit of trivia in the news coverage during all these months of campaigning. I would like all my regular commentators to let me know if they already knew. Also, if you don’t know, take a guess. I’ll give you one hint. It’s not Obama.

Have I Mentioned that I Hate SPAM?

February 6, 2008 on 2:58 pm | In Blogging, Internet | No Comments

Back when the Kimkins ebook was released, it was mentioned on Kimkins Exposed that some spam emails were longer than the 2000+ words that Heidi Diaz bestowed upon her loyal subjects. I have been getting really long, really porny comment spam lately. I decided to do a word count on one of them and the tally was over 5000. Thank goodness for moderation. If you ever have an important comment to make about the Kimkins Controversy, make sure it does not include thousands of dirty words, because I get so much spam that I skim through it rather than reading for context.
