Anti-Kimkins Blogs of Note: About About.com
January 15, 2008 on 8:59 am | In Health, Diet, Weight Loss, Kimkins, Kimkins Criticism, Kimkins Diet |About.com is not a blog. Its content is written by over 600 people who are called guides. They are considered experts on a particular topic and they are compensated by About.com, which is owned by the New York Times. The coverage of Kimkins is informative and well written. As an added bonus, the staff at Kimkins responded to the initial article claiming that it was biased and misinformed. What they got for their effort was a closer look. Anybody who has looked closely at Kimkins is going to be more critical, not less critical. Low Carb Diet Guide Laura Dolson included the rebuttal from Kimkins with her update and made further additions as people such as Christin left Kimkins. Christin was in charge of PR when the About.com coverage began

yep the about.com Kimkins.com section is full of factual information about kimkins.con and Kimmer the morbidly obese woman who conned thousands of folk by claiming to be 115 pounder with a stolen pic from the net and a wild tale of shedding 198 poounds on her nutrtionally deficient diet all with out saggy skin nor loss of hair nor any other ill health effect over 100 former kimkins.con members had writtenabout on the kimkinssurvivors blog. The jig was up when the PI got pics of her still morbidly obese body just a few weeks after she was still claiming in a podcast to be 115 pounds.
Save your money and your long term health and don’t become another victim of kimkins.con

That’s a great resource. I particularly like the Kimkins Diet Scam Update.

I applaud Laura Dolson for taking the initiative to get the inside look at the Kimkins Diet by actually looking at it from a member’s view inside of Kimkins.com
I hope that other people will use their voices, whatever their medium is in their profession.
Some of us can only blog about the infractions but it takes people like Laura and About.com to reach others.
Thank you for pointing out the details of about.com
take care,
