UPDATE: THE AFFILIATE LINKS APPEAR TO BE GONE — THANK YOU, LIZZA!

While Lizza at WLTips.com has removed Kimmer’s fraudulent interview and changed Christin’s interview to reflect Christin’s concerns about the Kimkins diet now, WLTips.com is still affiliated with Kimkins. Note the Kimkins affiliate link at the bottom of this page. Therefore, in our view WLTips.com is knowingly participating in the Kimkins fraud and could be liable for damages that arise as a result. Please contact Lizza (lizza@wltips.com) and strongly encourage her to sever the affiliate ties. Lizza, if you are reading this, do the right thing!!

I wrote to Lizza this morning. She replied that she has heard the video blog. However, Christin must ask to have the interview removed. Lizza says that, “If or when she asks us to remove her page, then that’s what we’ll do.” So the only way to remove the interview is for Christin to ask them to remove it.

But regardless of whether or not the interview remains on the site, why must they have the affiliate link?

Lizza said, “We don’t endorse Kimkins, and we don’t show her company’s ads anymore (which we did for two months or so when we were enrolled in her company’s affiliate program).”

Maybe you could point out to Lizza where the affiliate link still is located on the page. (I can’t find it, or I’d do it myself.)

I reviewed the WLTips.com site just now and I don’t see an affiliate link unless my computer isn’t loading the page correctly it appears to be gone.
The only link I see at the bottom of the page—Kimkins—when you click on it you are brought to a page that says-
“The Kimkins diet promises fast weight loss without the need for gastric surgery, diet pills, special foods, exercise, and supplements. A number of the program’s members have lost a large amount of weight in a short amount of time through carb-calorie restriction, either through Kimkins or modified versions of it.

Numerous concerns about the methods used in very-calorie/carbohydrate diets and their sustainability have been voiced, so it’s a good idea to consult a nutritionist or other qualified health professionals before going on one. This goes for other weight loss programs too, not just Kimkins.”
Then it goes it the “updated” (9-24-07)interview with Christin which clearly is advising not to do the diet with the statements like-
“Kimkinsencourages cutting calories and fat as a method of rapid weight loss. Because of this urging many people, myself included, will consume anywhere from 300-500 calories a day based on their “hunger” level. I now know how extremely unhealthy and even dangerous this is. Towards the end of my journey I began showing various symptoms that often accompany Very Low Calorie Diets; including hair loss and loss of my menstrual cycle which is also a symptom of anorexia.”
I don’t know if I would classify that as an ad for the diet. However, I may be missing the link being discussed.

Oddly enough, Nicola claims to have lost 120 lbs. on Kimkins but doesn’t post a real picture?

Also, this site claims that “Jessica Alba claims to have lost 12 pounds in 10 days with the Kimkins Diet.

Kimkins is fast becoming THE celebrity Hollywood diet with fans such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Beyonce.”

They also still have Christin and Deni’s pictures up.

There is a joke on the page as well. It claims “To read an honest review of Kimkins click on the link.” http://www.kimkins-diet-review.com/

That doesn’t sound like a very honest review to me.

Thank you for ALL you are doing to help remove these inaccurate descriptions of Kimkins.

I was an affiliate for Kimkins and only realised the surrounding controversy in the past few days. Scary stuff! I didn’t realise things were so bad. I definitely wouldn’t promote something that is seen as a scam so I’ve removed http://www.squidoo.com/kimkinsdiet http://www.kimkins-diet-review.com and articles from Ezinearticles.
